Tips for Properly Collecting Your At-Home Hormone Sample Follow
Here are some tips to help increase blood flow and ensure you collect enough blood for your sample:
-
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water before collecting your sample to help with circulation.
-
Warm Your Hands: Rinse your hands in warm water or take a warm shower to promote blood flow.
-
Move Your Arms: Swing your arms by your side or do some light exercise to improve circulation.
-
Choose the Right Puncture Site: The best place to puncture is just off the center of the finger pad, not the tip of your finger.
-
Use a Firm Surface: Press your finger firmly against a solid surface, like a countertop or kitchen counter, to ensure the correct depth when using the safety lancet.
-
Encourage Blood Flow: If a drop isn’t forming, gently massage from your wrist down to your fingertip to help the blood flow.
-
Try a Different Finger: If needed, switch fingers and try again.
