Why are samples rejected by the lab? Follow
From time to time, our labs may not be able to accurately perform testing on your sample and produce complete results. This usually happens because there wasn't enough blood in your sample or your sample was missing an important piece of information (e.g. name, date of birth, collection date).
Here are the most common reasons for a lab rejection:
- Insufficient Sample Size
- If there isn't enough blood or serum in your sample, the lab won't be able to run the tests for your lab panel.
- Missing ID
- If the name and date of birth on your sample is missing or doesn't match the information you added to your Hone account when you registered your lab panel, the lab won't be able to process your order.
- Not Registered
- If you send your lab panel back to us without registering it online, the lab won't be able to process your sample. If you mailed your sample back to us before registering your kit, reach out to support@honehealth.com as soon as possible for assistance.
- Damaged Sample
- It's possible your sample is damaged during collection or before it reaches the lab. The most common form of damage is known as "hemolysis", or the destruction of red blood cells. This usually happens when you squeeze your finger too hard during blood collection - be gentle with your finger while you collect your sample.
If your sample is rejected by the lab, we'll reach out to you as soon as we're aware so that we can get you back on track.
